The basic thought of a flying platform, carried by Impeller engines is a far too huge effort for a single diploma. That?s why a mechanic anchored system has been developed. A seesaw, driven by two impellers, is ball-beared on a telescopic erected pendulum. Through controlling the thrust of the two engines, the angle and height of the seesaw, as well as the angle of the pendulum, shall be controlled. The three degrees of freedom can be fixed separately and the controlling problems can be separated at the beginning.

Because of a high need of current, the engines are fed by several car batteries. Through a specially developed connector box, the whole system can be taken in process easily. The controls of the separate degrees of freedom as well as of the whole system are realized on the xPC-target system, a fast-prototyping system based on Matlab.

The controlling aims have been reached partially. The control of the angle and the height of the seesaw, as well as their combination could be realized successfully with Fuzzy control and also in a classical way. The control of the pendulum ought to be more difficult. Problems as noise and voltage peaks on the measuring signals as well as difficulties with system ground demanded controls containing high reserves of stability. These couldn?t be reached because of the lower reserves of thrust of the engines as well as of the construction which was too massive.
