Light and acoustics in large premises - primarly in churches - are nowadays usually controlled via fixed operating devices. Often a bus system like LON is used, in order to connect these devices among themselves. The controlling of such systems could be revolutionized by the employment of the ever-growing technology of the Tablet PC and the highly-developed radio transmission technology WLAN.
The task was to develop a software, which can control LON based light- and acoustics equipment. This should be done by using standards-based technologies and should be component-based. A special LON router was used for the network transition between LAN and LON.
The work has been splitted into the following phases: analysis, design, implementation and test. The procedure was done under the bases of Unified Process. To be able to test the complete system, the developed software architecture was used for a specific example project.
The product developed in this diploma thesis offers a local independent solution based on the .NET technology and is adaptable to the respective needs. Therefore the way of operating light or acoustics system in buildings like churches will be fundamentally changed.
