A 2x4 channel EEG system was designed at the outset of the diploma research. However, the system was not running at the end. A differential voltage in the uV region was measured on the head surface. Due to a Right Leg Driver this measurement is potential free. After first amplification from 57dB the signal is bandpassed with a lower edge frequency of 480mHz and a upper edge frequency of 140Hz. After a second variable amplification the signals were led to an 8-channel ADC. This ADC communicates with a Virtex 2 FPGA over a fiber optical system. The analog signals are sampled with 2kHz at each cannel. The FPGA calculates a Fast Fourier Transformation every second with 256 points for each channel. Data from time and frequency are sent in real time with 822kBit/s over a USB Interface to the PC.
