The aim of this Thesis was to develop a Web User Interface for a Document Management System (DMS). A DMS simplifies the storage of legible documents, by adding additional properties upon saving, which are used when carrying out a document search. Additionally, version and access management is integrated. As with a conventional file system, the tool creates a tree, within which frequently used documents can be deposited.

The main task of the project was to integrate the important functions of the DMS into our Web User Interface. Such a function was the display of a personal tree structure, which could be extended with additional folders. The compilation of a search and the display of the found documents in a list form was another important focus, as was the display of the document with its properties and contents. Depending on the feasibility, the inserting of new documents into the DMS via the Web User Interface was also be implemented.

The DMS was put at our disposal by Kendox AG, who also acted as our business partner and gave us support throughout the entire project. The existing business logic of the DMS could therefore be accessed via the Web User Interface, which meant that no business logic had to be implemented into the interface. This way, the logic of the Web User Interface is reduced to the presentation of the user interface.
