In spinning plants, different operational data must be monitored. After such data is collected, they are sent to a visualization system on a PC. Today, for the remote observation and maintenance of these plants, a relatively slow software is used.

In two earlier projects, concepts were elaborated and a visualisation system was already prepared. The aim of our project was to choose and to accomplish a concept, which had to fulfil all the given requirements.

Our application allows the remote access via a webserver over a secure connection to the operating data of a spinning plant, in order for modifications to be made, as well as to manually control the spinning plant. In doing so, only the necessary data is transmitted to improve the performance. Additionally, our application displays all choosen operational data in the form of a chart or a table, which can be saved as a predefined view. The views, the charts and the tables are saved in XML files and can allways be invoked by the user. This simplifies the maintenance of the spinning plants. For the local maintenance, as well as for the remote maintenance, the operator can use the same application.
