The dissertation ?Voice Beacon? stands in the context of the development of a radio based warning system which enables the transmission of a voice message over all the necessary channels in case of an emergency situation. In this thesis we realized a functional demonstrator for this pertinent requirement. The multi carrier signal is taken from a digital memory. The voice message is the input reference of the digital analog converter and is modulated directly to the multi carrier signal. A mixer device transfers the modulated multi carrier signal to the high frequency band where it will be amplified. This solution has considerable advantages compared with a multi carrier signal which is generated analog. The adjoining wave bands cannot be disturbed and the modulation on a multi carrier signal becomes possible. Moreover the system does not send messages on particular channels if these channels must be kept free for important services. We feel therefore that the alternative possibility to realize the system with a ?digital signal processor? is more complex and more expensive. For this reason we didn?t provide it. The successful results of the measurements we performed confirm our solution. The functional demonstrator will therefore be a good help for the future continuation of this project.
