DA And 04/1 - eLearning-platform for the trouble shooting management of a public transportation

The conceptional formulation of the framework has primarily intended to be used to eliminate the faulty operation of the public transportation. These troubles will be at the user?s disposal in terms of a checklist. The user should have the options to handle the checklist in two modes: the studying mode and the mode for inspection. Additionally has been asked to apply an optimal form of eLearning, which covers some sort of fun-factor and the produced play instinct of the user.

After the project planning and a first preoccupation with the matter ?eLearning? we started the conception state. The result of the conception state was a clear definition of the basic function and the expected problems. After the meeting with our costumer and a consultant of the Weisskopf-Engineering AG we started to solve the issue iterative. The functions of the prototypes, worked out in the different iterations, have been gathered together to a general architecture. They build the base to further projected development of the frameworks.

The already for the most part implemented framework is composed of five components and covers all functions demanded in the conceptual formulation. To satisfy the required standards of programs made to serve several users at the same time, it is constructed as a web-application with a classical 3-tier-architecture. The presentation layer has been realized with Java and Actionscript. The Middleware has been completely created by PHP-Scripts. The core, which also ensures the complex communication between the single components, is made up of a database. The costumer is able to freely choose the DBMS of the database.

We successfully managed to implement a solid basis to learn and present a process. The advantages of our frameworks are the capability to take in processes with junctions and the simple ability to be adjusted or adapted. This permits an intersectoral use as a learning aid and means of representation of complex processes.
