One parameter of an injection control for diesel engines is the detection of knocking. The existence of knocking is detectable in the engine cylinder pressure signal and contains in the given application frequencies in the range of 1.8 kHz and 5.7 kHz.
A detection control had therefore to be implemented in a Cypress PSoc (Programmable System on Chip) circuit and its technical possibilities to be investigated.
The control function consisting of a 6th order SC (switched-capacitor) bandpassfilter, a gain amplifier, a peak-peak detection, an ADC (Analog to Digital Convertor), a DAC and a uP were successfully implemented and programmed in two PSoC circuits.
