The needs of Artists Management Company Ltd. could no longer be covered with the existing computer technology. The main reasons were the inadequacy of the Files-Servers, the lack of cancellation security, the absence of a reliable backup solution and the requirement for a connected group e-mail solution with communication functions.

The most important consideration was for the new server to have the capability to improve the cancellation security. This was solved through different measures such as:

a. the installation of a Level 5 RAID-System b. a new backup solution; c. the use of an USV and; d. the possibility to restore the system after a total Crash with a DVD within an hour.

Thanks to the in depth evaluation and implementation of the selected solutions, one on top of the other on the hardware components the capability multiple was increased.

Before the introduction of the communication solution each workstation had Outlook Express locally installed so that no uniform storage of e-mails could take place. Another criterion was to get a grip on the daily flood of Spam. Furthermore a solution was sought to support teamwork electronically through suitable functions.

With the Tobit David SL a perfect solution was found to fit the needs of the company. The function variety and the possibility to extend the features with additional licenses, perfectly meshed with the new computer science strategy.

At the beginning the calculated budget could be maintained for a fairly long time. Additional costs could, however, not be avoided for the new backup system because the old manufacturer?s solution was no longer supported and the company had to declare insolvency.
