Background

The objective of this diploma thesis is to realize the website draft, which was developed within the scope of a project paper for the company ?Bergbahnen Saas Almagell AG? (BBSAAG) to improve their internet platform.

The following list shows the most important demands for the website which follow from the draft: - pleasingly built up website design including online booking possibility

  • pleasingly built up website design including online booking possibility - interaction with customers through z-stories - find the easiest and most complete administration of the website possible, which ensures a simple maintenance of the contents - consideration of the internal aspects: minimizing the costs, avoiding media-interruptions and internal complexities - well structured, documented, and extensible system

Completion

The self-developed PHP-solution, which is fully documented in the present thesis, is based on an SQL-database. The PHP-code is built up in the object oriented way whereby the complexity can be abstracted easily and reusability of basic components is guaranteed.

The thesis deals not only with the description of the technical solution but makes also several separate documents available. here is an extensive user manual for the future administrator that should help him with all common tasks while managing the website. A manual dealing with operational questions for the website and the administrator's computer should help to keep the system up and running. For possible future extensions we provide a system documentation.

Results

The website is already online at www.bergbahnen-almagell.ch. It should allow BBSAAG ? together with the user documentation ? to present itself on the internet in a professional manner without a lot of new administrative work.
