The subject for the Diploma Thesis mth02/1 WEB Push Technologies in a field of industry has been proposed by the company bfa solutions ltd. This company is active in the automation of production facilities in industrial fields and provides comprehensive solutions for the control of production facilities of various kinds.

During the production process a vast amount of data is being generated and transmitted by an existing intranet. The ultimate goal is the optimization of the production process by the targeted distribution of information gathered during this process to different users. In order to organize the distribution of this data, bfa solutions uses two software solutions developed on it?s own. These solutions are insofar unsatisfactory as they can only be employed for non-time-sensitive use cases or the functionalities can hardly be extended.

In this thesis a prototype has been developed to remedy the deficiencies of the existing solutions. At the first glance this prototype seems to be a simple stock market application, which generates, on the serverside, two stock values, which are then distributed by the intranet to different users.

However, the software has been designed in a way that the application can be arbitrarily extended. Thus, it can be used for various types of applications. To achieve this goal a communication service has been implemented which transmits any kind of data in a bidirectional and reliable manner. The graphical representation on the user?s display is arbitrary and, if necessary, complex logic can be integrated into the view components.

The prototype has been implemented and is operating whereas a faultless running can be guaranteed within the scope of the accomplished tests. However, there is a potential for optimization, which should in any case be exploited before considering a productive use.
