The OEC-Kompass is a vade-mecum for independent work by students of economic science at universities and universities of applied science. This compass was transformed into an e-learning portal as the practical work for a term paper.

This diploma work deals with the development of concepts for the final-release of the OEC-Kompass. The focal point is a concept for automatic updating of several media at which the compass points. Another part of the work is the evaluation of a opinion poll carried out in three new economics classes which used the compass as a work book in their first week.

The concept for a verification of the existing media became so concrete that a prototype was programmed. It includes a survey of media in three different catalogs. This prototype can easily be extended with other databases, so that huge range of access can be covered.

The opinion poll gave some very interesting and positive feedback. In addition, many wishes and suggestions were collected from the students.
